The verdict is in.
We spent the last couple of weeks scouring Austin?for its?most Instagrammable spots, and as many of you know,?this city is ridiculously full of them. With help from social media, our readers (that’s you!), and a few local cool kids, we picked ten of our favorites to share with you. So if you’re looking for a way?to spruce up your IG page or just a pretty new place to kill some time, scroll on down!
We happened upon this stunning?spot while driving through a neighborhood just off of West Lynn. With its mosaic tiled pool, elaborate greenery, and pink stone exterior, the Escorial feels like a trip to the?Spanish coast.
1506 W. 13th Street
Part of?The Contemporary Austin,?this park is home to beautifully manicured grounds, old Spanish-style architecture, outdoor sculpture galleries, wooded trails, and hillside staircases overlooking the water–all just as glorious as it sounds.
3809 W. 35th Street
Sledd appears relatively unassuming from the street, but spend a few minutes exploring and you’ll see why we’re obsessed with it. The nursery has plenty of natural light, lush?foliage, flowers, and succulents, and even a small library full of vintage?books.
1211 West Lynn Street
If you’ve ever had a meal?at Elizabeth Street, you already know why this is on our list. The cafe and boulangerie is pretty as can be, inside and out. From the funky?artwork on the walls to the colorful (and delicious) French and Vietnamese food on the tables, Elizabeth Street has?endless Insta-potential.
1501 S. 1st Street
5. Zocalo Cafe
Another?local food favorite, we love Zocalo for its mix-your-own guacamole?and?its Instagrammability. With a fresh?color palette of green, white, and blue, and lots of well-shaded outdoor seating, you’ll find yourself standing on your chair to gram some #foodporn in no time at all.
1110 West Lynn Street
Hotel Saint Cecilia already has a massive following on Instagram, and it’s easy to see why. Its stunning 60s- and 70s-inspired decor and poolside bungalow views make?a glamorous?backdrop for photos.
112 Academy Drive
This restaurant is one of our go-tos for weekend brunching (Sawyer’s Benedict is the yummiest), but the retro aesthetic?and open-air dining and lounge areas also create?some very cool photo ops.
4827 E. Cesar Chavez Street
While Enfield Drug?may seem like an unlikely contender, we found its pastel?signage and giant painted wall made for lots of fun, colorful photos. Step inside and there’s even an adorable soda fountain bar that dates back to 1951.
1115 West Lynn Street
Smack in the middle of buzzy South Congress lies Hotel San Jose, set in a revamped 1930s motor lodge. Surrounding the swimming pool you’ll find plenty of camera-ready ivy-lined walls, shaded?corridors, and quiet courtyards.
1316 South Congress Avenue
Last but certainly not least is the Blanton, and what better place to take some artsy photos than an art museum? Need we say more?
200 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
